MORNING ZEN MEDITATION

    Participants depart HOSHINOYA Kyoto at the break of dawn--when mists still shroud the premises--to meditate at a nearby temple, in a hall that echoes with Buddhist chants and slowly fills with the day's first rays of sunshine.

    All year except 1,15,22 and 28 of every month, from August 10 to 16, and from December 31 to January 7.
