This scenic pier in the western part of the island extends far over the ocean. The sunset is exceptionally beautiful here. Nishi Pier is a 10-minute taxi ride or 20-minute bicycle ride from the resort.

This building on the premises of Japan's southernmost temple, Kiho-in, displays over 4,000 traditional tools and folk art works such as minsa weaving. Shushu-kan is a 5-minute taxi ride or 15-minute bicycle ride from the resort.

This information center is a rich source of historical and cultural materials related to the numerous festivals held on Taketomi throughout the year. Yugafu-kan is a 8-minute shuttle ride or 15-minute bicycle ride from the resort.

A wide variety of regional weave and dye works are made at this folk art center. Visitors may observe the works being crafted during loom weaving presentations. Taketomi Mingei-kan is a 5-minute taxi ride or 15-minute bicycle ride from the resort.

This shop primarily sells tableware with an emphasis on sky blues and coral whites. The pavilion number plates at HOSHINOYA Taketomi Island are, in fact, made by Gokoya. Pottery and shisa figurine making workshops are also offered. Gokoya is a 5-minute taxi ride or 10-minute bicycle ride from the resort.

With glittering white coral sands and mild currents, this beach located on the southwest part of the island is perfect for swimming. The scenery here is distinctly Okinawan. Showers and toilets are available. Kondoi Beach is a 10-minute taxi ride or 20-minute bicycle ride from the resort.

This beach, about a 5-minute walk from HOSHINOYA Taketomi Island, is a quiet spot with few visitors. The currents are too rapid for swimming, but the beach offers lovely views of the sunrise. Aiyaru Beach is a 5-minute walk from the resort.

South of Kondoi Beach is Kaiji - also known as Star Sand Beach, due to the star-shaped sand particles scattered throughout. Star sand can only be found on the purest beaches. Although swimming is not allowed, the sunsets here are spectacular. Kaiji Beach is a 10-minute taxi ride or 20-minute bicycle ride from the resort.

About 90% of this island is covered with primeval subtropical forests, which are home to 15 protected species, such as the Iriomote cat, as well as towering mangrove trees. This is the perfect place for trekking and kayaking.

This tiny island, with a circumference of only 16 km, is covered in sprawling sugarcane fields. Attractions include Sugar Road, a one-way road that cuts through the fields, and a golf course that offers spectacular ocean views.

This island is home to Kabira Bay, considered one of Japan's 100 most beautiful spots. Snorkeling and diving tours allow visitors to get up close to the island's colorful coral and fish, while glass-bottom boat rides allow non-swimmers to enjoy the sights as well.
